Privacy

What we collect

• Your name and email address.
• The address of your building site.
• Photos and documents that the team adds to your project.
• Profile photos of the people on your team (and yours, if you add one).
• Messages you and the team write in the app.
• A log of changes made in the app and who made them (for example a schedule change or a document added).
• If you turn on phone alerts, the notification subscription your phone gives us (it is not your phone number).

Why we collect it

To sign you in, to show you your own project, to let you and the team talk, and to send you the email or phone alerts you have chosen. We do not sell your information and we do not use it for advertising.

Where it is stored

Your information is stored with Supabase, in Sydney, Australia. The app itself is hosted on Vercel (servers may be outside New Zealand).

Other services that handle it

• Resend sends our emails (sign-in links and alerts), so it sees your email address and the text of the email.
• If you turn on phone alerts, Apple or Google's push services deliver them to your phone, so they see the alert text.

These services only handle your information to deliver the app to you.

Who sees what

• Clients see only their own site: the updates, documents and messages the team has shared with the client.
• The site team sees the sites they are assigned to, including team-only notes.
• The Fortress office sees everything.

Nobody can see another client's site.

Photos

When a photo is uploaded, we remove the GPS location and the original file name from it, so a photo cannot give away where it was taken.

How long we keep it

We keep your information while your build and its warranty period run. After that we keep it only if you ask us to, and we delete it if you ask us to.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email henrys@fortressgroup.co.nz. If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, you can also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.
